ABOUT ME

My name is Hardik Mahida. I live in Brampton, Ontario. I have 1.5 years of work experience in the field of Networking and Security. Currently, I am pursuing Information Technology Business Analysis course at Conestoga College. I have completed my Master's in Computer Science from New York Institute of Technology and did my Bachelor's in Electronics and Communication from Gujarat Technological University.

Irrespective of my previous work experience, I want to be a professional Business Analyst to maximize learnings and practice, incorporate and develop the data analysis and reporting capabilities for clients and provide considered recommendations. Numbers never lie; they are the only evidence and clearly show the problem for the one who knows how to evaluate it. I love being part of the solution, and it makes me happy to see business improve and expand with our support. Accurate research and reporting improve company productivity and lead them well, and I think that's a fantastic job.

Moving to the companies where I worked as Trainee/Network Engineer are Integra Technologies LLC, USA, and Web Drills, India, respectively. I provided network support, installation, and analysis for a broad range of LAN/WAN/MAN communication systems and much more.

Talking about my hobbies, I like to listen to music, play football and some mobile games, and watch YouTube videos as it keeps me refreshed. I spend my leisure time with my family and friends.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Denial of Service Jamming Attack - May 2017

In this project, I constructed wireless network topology in OPNET, which connects various computers to a single network. Additionally, I analyzed the result of the attack, which revealed the decrement in throughput of nodes and increase in delay by implementing Jamming Attack. Finally, I used the channel switching technique to resolve the attack.

Exemplar-Based Image Inpainting - May 2016

I surveyed most common inpainting methods and origins like Criminisi method, PDE based, Texture synthesis based, and semi-Automatic & fast. I also researched and developed a new algorithm, an improved exemplar-based algorithm with wireframe mesh and color map concept, and I implemented it on MATLAB tool.

Image Denoising - May 2016

I surveyed different algorithms of removing noises from an image like Linear Filtering, Non-Linear threshold filtering, and Non-orthogonal wavelet transforms. Based on that, I implemented Wavelet Coefficient Model on MATLAB.

GSM Based Heartbeat & Temperature Monitoring System - May 2013

This was my very first project during education. I started by observing multiple microcontrollers like Intel 8048/8051 family and Atmel ATiny/ATmega series. Afterward, I finished the project by designing a PCB layout using the Eagle tool. I implemented the circuitry with ATmega 8535 controller and GSM modem to wirelessly monitor heartbeat and temperature through SMS notifications.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Integra Technologies LLC, Wilmington, DE -- February 2018 – March 2020

Position: Network Engineer

I have done many things in my experience with Integra Technologies, such as configuring and installing network devices and services. I also managed to perform network maintenance and system upgrades, monitor performance, ensure system availability and reliability, monitor system resource utilization and trending and capacity planning. Besides, I provided level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues. My work there didn't stop at that point; I successfully migrated the Cisco legacy environment and fixed troubleshoot problems in Cisco Aironet 600 and 2700 series.

Web Drills, West Bengal, India -- July 2013 – December 2015

Position: Trainee/Jr. Network Engineer

During my work with Web Drills, I was responsible for monitoring the company's network performance and cabling and labeling several network equipment. Additionally, I provided Helpdesk support, which involved identifying and escalating the tickets to specific groups. I designed and implemented Cisco 2600, 3600, 6500, 7200, 7500 series routers in a lab environment to reproduce various issues and test fixes. It was my quality time with Web Drills as I learned and experienced so many new things.

STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES/SKILLS

Pressure and big projects always increase my motivation, and I don't hesitate to invest more time and effort to finish my work. I am into details and always seek professionalism. The small details of projects have always drawn my interest. My willingness to work with a team, communicate and collaborate with them helps me a lot and makes it easier for me to learn new things. Worth stating that I am also a fast learner; such qualities have always helped me to finish my job very professionally, even before the deadline. Those make it easier for me to participate in a new environment and develop my skills and expertise.

If I must think of weakness in me; I can say that’s being a details freak. I can’t ignore details, even tiny ones, which makes me always think about it and try to make it perfect. It can be tiring and exhausting sometimes for me.

With big projects and under pressure, sometimes I try to distract myself for half or one hour. A family call, coffee, and music are enough to refresh my energy and get me ready to finish my day. I always think and note that stress doesn't make things better, and I have to use every minute right, and because I trust my ability to finish the job properly, I don't feel stressed most of the time.

WHAT I CAN BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION

I have always been excited to work in a business analysis department where I can employ my skills to find the best solutions for companies with problems. I will dig in the numbers to find out the business-facing issue and allow recommendations after deep critical thinking. Being a good communicator will help a lot, where I can understand the client's needs and point of view very well. The most important thing is to persuade the client and make the ideas easier. Adding my dedication and accuracy to work is also a significant plus.

Customers are not always right, but in their head, yes, they are, and it’s better to let them think that. Negotiating with them will make them angry and unhappy and potentially lose them. Here comes the role of communication and understanding in seeking a solution that satisfies them without impacting the business.

Moreover, it is a bit weary working 8 hours a day, but the feeling isn't. If you enjoy what you're doing and have a passion for it, you're not going to be as interested in hours as you are in performance. Often, the right environment and a good team make it easier and timeless. Great results always worth hours and efforts, so it will feel amazing when achievements follow them.

Moreover, I am currently pursuing Information Technology Business Analysis course and cannot wait to start my career in this domain.
